Panel discussion on the SSRE anniversary
The Swiss Society for Research in Education celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025. On this anniversary, a panel discussion followed by a reception will take place on July 4, 2025, starting at 3:45 p.m. at the PH Luzern as part of the SGBF Congress.
The panel discussion will outline significant developments in the context of Swiss education research but will also address the role of education and education research in the present and the future. The discussion will include both established figures in science and junior researchers. All participants of the SNSF congress and all other interested parties are cordially invited to attend. Both the panel discussion and the reception are free of charge.

SGL Lunch Forum on 3 July 2025
Since its foundation, the Swiss Society for Teacher Education (SGL) has provided a lively and well-used scientific forum for the professionalisation of teachers. The SGL publishes the journal «Beiträge zur Lehrerinnen- und Lehrerbildung», which is read not only in Switzerland but also beyond. The 23 working groups, which are thematically structured according to subject areas and subjects and in which colleagues regularly meet to exchange ideas and work on current issues, continue to be relevant for discourse.
The Thursday lunchtime forum highlights which working groups already exist. The working group leaders and board members who are attending the congress are available for discussions. This provides all conference participants with the opportunity to talk to working group leaders and the board, to network, to find out about the opportunities offered by the SGL for professionalising teacher training, and to suggest and discuss thematic priorities and the initiation of new working groups.

Discussion Forum: Meet the Editors – Publishing in SZBW
The Swiss Journal of Educational Research serves as a publication platform for researchers working in the field of educational sciences. It also contributes to the development of educational sciences by promoting the exchange of research findings. Its multilingual approach provides a comprehensive overview of key research trends in Switzerland and internationally.
We warmly invite potential authors and readers to the discussion forum "Meet the Editors." During this event, the editorial team will present the journal's content focus and mission. Participants will then have the opportunity to ask questions in a moderated Q&A session and engage in discussions about academic publishing processes.
Potential discussion topics include: the editorial review process (What criteria are applied when evaluating manuscripts? How is quality ensured?), the journal's scientific and ethical guidelines (How are ethical principles considered in the publication process? What editorial policy is adopted regarding generative artificial intelligence?), and the journal's strategic orientation.
We look forward to engaging with you!
